Then there is the imposing Victorian style hall mirror with marble platform. It's over 7 feet tall. Solid cherry dining chairs and table. Two grandmother clocks. A vintage porcelain tray with original kewpie decorations with Rose O'Neill's name on the back. World Market club chairs. Ashley furniture love seat, curio cabinets, hutches. This USMC couple was stationed in Japan and traveled the Far East extensively. From the concrete lions on the front porch to the cament pagoda yard statues in the back, this home is full of items they loved from that part of the world. Amazing Imari porcelain. Hand painted four panel screens mounted in every room of the home. The star is the black lacquer standing screen in the living room adorned with figural scenes made from slices of polished stone, inlaid mother of pearl and polychrome backgrounds. Outstanding piece. But also be aware of the reticulated table lamps with cherry branch design. They traveled extensively to Hong Kong as well where they obtained some wonderful jade and cloisonne jewelry. Plus hand tailored silk garments--dresses, jackets and slacks. All in wonderful condition. We discovered a wide selection of velvet pillows with beautifully embroidered panels. We were told they also loved Hawaii. In the closet we found vintage mumus for her and island made shirts for him. Framing all these treasures are mid century furniture and dining & bedroom suites. Take a serious look at the Atomic Age sofa in the sunroom with the V-shaped teak legs. Very Jetsons. They had quite a lot packed into this home. And we spent quite a bit of time unpacking it .
